“Bee the thread” is inspired by my father William Morrissey. My Dad has always been involved in social justice. His mission is to connect people through empathy and understanding. During his time at Saint Ambrose University (Home of the Fighting Bees) he majored in Business Administration and social justice. The “Bee” in this title is paying respect to his alma mater.
The goal of Bee the Thread is to connect people together and to remind humanity that we are more alike than we are different. Too often we see our side of a story or situation when we should be inquiring about other people’s views to help fix the problems in our society and world. The more people step outside their comfort zone and go out into the world the more likely they are able to relate to others. When we are able to relate to others that are different from us we can “bee the thread” that connects groups of people together through a common ground. Just like a thread connects fabric together to create a work of art, we as humans can connect to each other to create peace and understanding.
